Puppy Land
Meet mine and Derek's puppy Georgie. He is about 6 months old. So when we got him from my mom he was the perfect puppy.. completely potty trained! When we brought him home, we completely expected him to have a FEW accidents in the house.. I mean he is a whole new environment. But now its getting a little ridiculous. 95% of the time he pees outside and the other 5% i want to give him back. I know he knows better!! Please puppy gods.. make it stop!!!!!!

And the gloves are off..
How is it that you can get so excited about something and then something always goes wrong. Take for instance last night... all day I was waiting for Derek to get home from work so we could start our normal weekend ritual of eating dinner and watching movies together... just to relax really in eachothers company after a long work week. Everything seems fine and dandy, almost too good to be true, and then here comes the rain on our parade. The night was a total disaster, ending in tears, little sleep, and him on the recliner down stairs for the remainder of the night. Now I know that nobody is perfect, and fighting every now and then keeps a relationship healthy, cause lets be honest, were not robots, but come on... the weekends is "our time" to spend together. With such busy and crazy work schedules, the only time we spend together Monday through Friday, is when we get ready for bed or are getting ready for work in the morning. "What was the fight about." your wondering to yourself, well let me tell you without really telling you, something completely and utterly STUPID! Yes I will say that there was a little bit of booze thrown in the mix, and that ALWAYS makes things worse then they really are. I honestly thought that when he was leaving today there would not be a kiss goodbye or even an "I love you." Surprisingly, I got both. Then after an apologetic text directed to him and a "have a good day at work," I got this in return... "Im not mad baby, sorry I overreacted, I love you too and I hate fighting with you." God, why couldn't we just have said all that last night?? After last night, I have now added a very much needed #11 on my list of "NYR."

10 "NYR" for 2010
So its one month in to the new year and i've been trying for these past 30 days to decide what my "new years resolution" is going to be. Yes, i am a little behind.. but hey it takes some people all year long to compete their "NYR." So I figured that I was still in the clear. Needless to say, on this new journey that i have begun, there isn't just one thing I feel like I can work on, there is quite a few, so i have decided to make a list...
10 THINGS TO CONQUER IN 2010
1. Get my fitness on;
I have always been a pretty physically fit person and have taken pride on staying in shape, but over the past couple years and especially since graduating high school almost 6 years ago, my abilities have taken a quick dive on a downward slop. Many of my friends and family know that (thanks to my dad and his career) I have always enjoyed playing golf. I basically played from age 5 to 17 constantly. I also have this unusual passion to run, but thanks to my bum knees, doing so seems to cause more of a problem then anything else. Now I honestly don't believe that you need to pay the monthly big bucks to go work out at the gym. Yeah its nice to have all the perks that a gym offers, but on a tight budget, I like to utilize what I have around me. Now im not trying to say that I want to lose "x" amount of pounds by so and so date, cause honestly im really not trying to lose any weight, but what I would love to do is get toned before summer. So there it is, number 1 on my list... lets get this body ready for another summer on the "Dirty D."
2. Get out of debt;
Yes, like most of the country's population, I fit in the "your in debt" category. Definitly not somewhere that I wish I was, and definitly not going to sit and make excuses for myself.. Im just ready to get out!! Living off of credit cards when times were tough and having school loans, and having to do the unthinkable and asking the parents for loans, has put me where I am today. You get so far in sometimes, that it feels almost impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But I truly believe that this is my year to do it!! Where there's a will, there's a way! Trust me, I know that its not going to get better overnight, but with some hard work I KNOW I can do this by the end of the year.
3. Rekindle forgotten relationships;
I have to admit that there are quite a few people (friends and family included) that I have lost closeness to or lost relationships with all together. Its time to change all that. I have learned over the years, after losing many close people in my life, that life is too short. People are meant to be in your life for a reason, so work as hard as you can and no matter how hard it is, make it work to keep them around as long as possible. Whether that mean, girls nights, weekly family dinners, or just a phone call or email every now and then. I don't want my life to be a mystery to the people I love.. hence kinda why I have started this lovely blog :)
4. Eat Healthier
I have to admit that I do eat pretty healthy, but honestly its nowhere that it should be. I am so over the way that I feel when I eat like crap. It makes me tired and just blah. And might I add how much it costs to eat junk. I mean think about it... 1.50 for a soda 3.00 for some chips and a candy bar, come on... think about how much your spending not only daily, but yearly!! All that money I save from my junk food habit could be used to help me get out of debt! lol. Not only does the cost of everything sit heavy on my mind, but growing up, eating dinner together was the best part of the day. Who cares if you don't have a dinner table, being able to sit and talk about your day with the people you love is what its all about. Plus I could really use the time to work on my cooking skills.
5. Hit the books;
Many of my friends and family will probably look at this and think.. you spent 2 years in school already.. why go back. And my answer to that.. I want to do more!! Yes I went to hair school and graduated and got my license, but its not enough. I want to go back and finish my AA. I want to take classes that I never thought I was passionate about. Like creative writing and journalism, and maybe some photography and business classes. I don't want to look back and say I shoulda coulda woulda....
6. Start saving;
Being in debt makes it really hard to have a savings account. And living pay check to pay doesn't make it easy to put any money away. I look around and see all the things that I could have, and it makes me sad. But that's going to change cause starting this year, I WILL have a savings account. Even if its only 25 bucks every check, that will add up over time.
7. Get a job that I love;
Over the past 5 years, I have worked in so many different places. Probably way more then I should admit.. This year I am making it a priority to find a job that I really love. Not just some part time job that barely pays the bills, I mean a Real job. I've done it all... waitress, bartend, office work, barista, delivery driver, and even the most off the wall, taste tester.. I think that I deserve to find something I love doing, don't you?! So the first step is done, resume complete, now its time to make my move!!!
8. Take more pictures;
I know this one kinda seems out of place with the rest of the list, but remember the saying pictures say a thousand words. Yes, during the summer I was that annoying person with the camera following everyone around like the paparazzi... I have to admit, it payed off, I captured some of the most amazing memories from one of the best summers of my life. But sadly after my camera was stolen, my passion went down the drain. After my boyfriend purchased a new camera, it was like jumping back in the saddle, so to say. I love to be able to look back and see how much fun me and my friends and family have had over the years, and I love creating new memories with the people I love. Your probably saying to yourself, what does she do with all these pictures?... I have two words for you.... SCRAP BOOKING!!!
9. Create my own "Bucket List;"
Many people have seen the movie, The Bucket List. And if you haven't here is a quick run down of the story line... 2 sick gentlemen make a list of things they want to do before they quote on quote " kick the bucket." With all this nonsense about the world ending, I thought it would be a great time to start my very own Bucket List. So in a future blog, not that I plan on going anywhere, anytime soon, I myself will create a list of things I would like to do before I kick my own bucket..
10. Give back;
Everyone has such a busy schedule all the time that they don't have time for the little things in life. Like giving back to the community they live in, or volunteering at the senior center. During my high school career, I did so much in the community that it almost absorbed all of my spare time. But looking back I was doing it all for the wrong reasons.. Whether it was for extra credit for school or to impress the colleges, it wasn't just because. Reading a little kid a book or serving food at your local shelter, or even going to the ever so famous L.O.E.L senior center to volunteer at their annual valentines day dance.. watching a stranger enjoy your company even if its just for a moment is worth everything.

Let the Journey Begin
So I have decided after being inspired by a dear friend, to start my very own blog spot.. I was pretty hesitant at first and thought to myself, who is going to want to read blogs that I write. But sitting thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that yeah, it would be cool to have friends and family be able to keep up with me, in my ever so changing life, but with my hidden passion to write, I thought it would be an amazing way for me to vent, relieve stress, and just say whats on my mind. When this new year started, I decided that it was about time to begin my very own "pursuit of happyness." Yes I have to admit that over the past few months I have been happier then ever, but its not enough, im ready to finally be able to say I am happy with everything in my life. This blog is to let everyone be a part of my very own pursuit.. So, let the journey begin!
